HINDUISM:
80% of the people is Hinduism, considered the world's oldest religious and philosophical system
The main religion in ancient India was Hinduism. The roots of Hindu religion can be followed back to the Vedic period. Hinduism is believed to be the oldest of major religions and originated in northern India. Early Aryan, or Vedic, culture was the early Hinduism whose interaction with non-Aryan cultures made what we call Classical Hinduism.Classical and modern Indian culture has been greatly shaped by Hindu thought. There is no 1 known creator of the religion.
BUDDHISM:
The religion began around 2,500 years ago in India when Siddhartha Gautama found out how to bring happiness into the world. Siddhartha is know to have been visited by a demon and denied the evil lures of it. Then he became the enlightened one for going through this struggle. Siddhartha Gautama is the known creator of Buddhism.

The religions are both the main religions in India and are practiced commonly now. They shaped the India we all know now. With the architecture, statues and diverse history.
